My friends (Beki Hemingway of Denver and Christie Killen and Floyd Killen of San Jose) and I have formed a team - The Interstate Mitch Hikers - and we will hike in honor of my brother and other family members who have fought or are currently battling cancer.
Since 2008, Love Hope Strength has worked tirelessly to register over 30,000 people to the bone marrow registry, resulting in over 500 potentially life-saving matches for cancer patients around the world.
And events like Vail Rocks are fun for those of us who are more music fan than athlete...this year we will be joined by Mike Peters of the Alarm, Cy Curnin of the Fixx, and Brett Dennen, all donating their time and talents for the cause.
YOUR DONATIONS DO SO
MUCH!
In addition to providing funds for all the bone marrow drives Love Hope Strength does throughout the year at concerts and sporting events around the country, the funds raised by events like this help to provide cancer care for those who would otherwise not have access or funds to receive the help they need to fight this disease.
LHS placed the first mammography machine and treatment center in the country of Nepal, and a couple years ago, they were able to open a children's cancer treatment center in Tanzania. All this happens with only 4 people on the full time staff of the Love Hope Strength USA--and an army of volunteers (like me).
PLEASE CONSIDER
